Overview	Abide by the standards required by the Data Protection Act. Ensure data held on your electronic devices or memory devices and in your portfolio and logbook are compliant with the act. Look after carefully and dispose appropriately of any temporary patient identifiable data. Know how you can safely use email for patient data. Consider whether there are any situations in which confidentiality should be breached. Know when you must obtain your patient’s permission to store communicate with others about her/him.
