Mentoring Skills - September 2018

Start: 17th September 2018

Type: Training the Trainers Course

Description: Mentoring skills - a one day course. What is a mentor? 'A wise guide'. The quality of everything we do depends on the quality of the thinking we do first – enhance it with mentoring. Doctors make great mentors and naturally have many skills. This course will enhance your skills, give you new techniques, explain the theory and help you work out how you can mentor individually or set up mentoring in your department. Each course has a small group and is fun and highly interactive. The 60 minutes of pre-course learning covers the basic theory, and this is revised with an informal quiz on arrival. Then it’s practice, practice, practice. You will leave with lots of new techniques and skills to use in your training; with your colleagues; with the doctors you plan to mentor; and even your family. Post course support/supervision is offered so you can continue to add to your skills and have further questions answered as they arise in the future. The course is open to all doctors.
