To assess a patient clinically, in OPD and elsewhere, in particular to:

Know how and when (urgent vs routine) to request them Explain the benefits, risks and potential discomfort to the patient/carer Be able to interpret, explain and act upon the results Know the limitations and cost implication of each investigation.

Related Learning Outcomes
Overview	Know the physical principles employed by the techniques. Be aware of contrast media employed and possible contra-indications. Be familiar with interpreting the images themselves. Be aware of the different imaging modalities that may be available and which to choose based on the clinical scenario, e.g. macrodacrocystogram and lacrimal scintogram. Be familiar with imaging protocols, e.g. for acute painful Horner’s syndrome.
