RCOphth seeks Lay Advisory Group Member
16 May 2016
The RCOphth seeks an additional member to contribute to its Lay Advisory Group (LAG). The LAG has a broad representative membership, from having no background in general or eye health to members who have been or are eye patients and have some or no experience to related organisations. While the LAG is not a patient lobby group it expresses views based on public and patient experience of health and eye care services, supporting the RCOphth in the advancement of the science and practice of ophthalmology and representing lay opinion to the College.
As an integral part of the RCOphth, it advises the trustees and meets four times a year. Members are also expected to serve on one other committee. An interest in, or expertise of, healthcare, education, and communication would be welcome but we would also be pleased to meet people with other career experience and interests.
Travel expenses are reimbursed.
If you think you could contribute to the work of the RCOphth please contact Jo Longden.
You can download the application form here, which gives further information about the role.
The closing date for applications is Monday 27 June. Interviews will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 14 July 2016.
