Maintaining Standards and Protecting Patients – Consultant Advisory Appointment Committees

24 July 2018

The role of College Assessor on AACs is extremely important, with the appointment of every NHS consultant key to delivering the highest possible standards of care. The role of the College throughout the recruitment process is to help create good and safe working environments for newly appointed consultants and ensure that appointees are fully trained and the best candidate for the post. College Assessors have a major role to play in advising on the suitability of candidates for appointment.

If you are a substantive NHS consultant and would like to volunteer to help on any of the dates below or for future AACs, please contact Laurelle Bygraves on laurelle.bygraves@rcophth.ac.uk.  Please note that College Assessors cannot be employed by the recruiting trust.
