RCOphth recruiting for new Surgical Skills Faculty Lead

Applicants are invited for the post of Surgical skills co-ordinator at the College. This post involves running the existing College skills courses (basic and advanced) in conjunction with the numerous faculty members from around the country. Development of new courses is also part of the role and an interest in teaching and training using innovative teaching practises is an advantage..

Basic surgical skills courses are run 10 times a year at the Colleges state of the art skills centre which has a twelve station wet-lab and a separate training room. Advanced courses cover every surgical sub-specialty in Ophthalmology and recently, the faculty has been expanded to allow senior trainees to participate in the basic courses as trainers.

The successful applicant will work with the Education and Training Co-ordinator (Skills) and will sit on the Education Committee. They will work closely with the Lead for simulation training who is also part of the faculty.
