New Eye Journal Collection: Avastin and Wet AMD
3 December 2018
Eye, the journal of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, has this week published their online collection drawing together papers published on Avastin and Wet AMD in 2018.
Members will no doubt be aware of the issue, and ongoing work by the College in campaigning since 2012 for the use of Avastin in treatment for wet AMD. The following pieces provide an interesting range of approaches to the subject, including a legal perspective and a piece co-authored by RCOphth President, Mike Burdon, and Chair of the RCOphth Scientific Committee, Professor Andrew Lotery:
- Implications for pharmaceutical companies and clinicians from the Bayer v NHS judgement: an increasing budgetary focus for both, Hanna I. Hyry & Jonathan C. P. Roos
- Consulting the consultants: Avastin in the treatment of wet AMD, Ryian Mohamed, David C. Saunders & John P. Mathews
- Bevacizumab: a new way of doing business. Part 2, Andrew J. Lotery & Michael A. Burdon
