Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards [ACCEA] Professor Kevin Davies, Consultant Rheumatologist and Foundation Chair of Medicine at Brighton & Sussex Medial School, has been formally announced as the new ACCEA Medical Director, starting on 1July. The ACCEA are currently working on their COVID exit strategy and next steps on national CEA reform and its consultation.

New guidance released with the College of Optometrists on the use of non-contact tonometry to measure intra-ocular pressure during COVID-19
The RCOphth and CoO have updated guidance on the use of NCT based on new evidence showing there is a low likelihood of viral particles in the tears and conjunctiva, even in those with active COVID-19 infection or conjunctivitis. The revised advice is it does not pose a significant risk and standard infection control precautions apply.
