The Royal College of Ophthalmologists act as a sponsoring body for International Medical Graduates (IMG) who wish to spend time undertaking part of their training in ophthalmology in the United Kingdom. The College established a Dual Sponsorship Scheme in April 1994 to enable International Medical Graduates of exceptional ability to come to the UK for a period of training.

The International Medical Graduates’ Training Sub-committee of the College is responsible for administering the Dual Sponsorship Scheme on behalf of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and sits under the Training Committee.
Application process
The position of Chair will be available from the 1 October 2021 and we now invite applications for this role. This post is open to consultants, so please check the job description and person specification carefully.
Closing date: Monday 23 August 2021 at 9.00
Interviews: Wednesday 8 September 2021 from 17.00 onwards
Our next Training Committee will be on Wednesday 15 September 2021 and we would hope the successful applicant will be able to attend this meeting. This meeting will be held on zoom and starts at 10.00am till 4.00pm
