The Dr Sadhu Ram Gupta MBE Award for international (non-UK) examination candidates

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new annual award for international candidates that take our FRCOphth examinations.
For 2021, the Dr Sadhu Ram Gupta MBE Award will be given to the best performing non-UK examination candidate who has completed the Part 2 FRCOphth Written examination.
From 2022, the award will be given to the best performing non-UK examination candidate who has completed the Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examination.
Only candidates that reside permanently outside of the UK and take the examination overseas will be eligible for award.
The award will consist of a monetary sum of £1000 (one thousand pounds sterling) and a medal.
The winner will be announced in January each year for the previous years’ worth of eligible exams.
In January 2022, the winner announced will be the highest ranking candidate from the July 2021 and December 2021 Part 2 FRCOphth Written examinations combined.
In January 2023, the winner will be the highest ranking candidate from all overseas sittings of the Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examinations in 2022, taking place in Singapore, India, Egypt and Trinidad and Tobago.
