Seminar Review: Neuro-Ophthalmology – The Unmissable

25 April 2016

‘Neuro-ophthalmology – The Unmissable’ truly was an unmissable day packed full of useful learning points to take back to the eye clinic. The day was led by expert neuro-ophthalmologists who opened each session with a real case presentation of a patient that they had encountered themselves. Together, with audience participation, they led us step by step through their history, examination, differential diagnoses, investigations, referrals and treatment. I found myself reflecting on, and worrying about, my patients whom I had treated over the years with each topic covered. We left with concise hand-outs for our future reference for these presentations/conditions, which I have already rifled through for one of my patients.

I would highly recommend this course for both trainees and consultants to sharpen your levels of suspicion and diagnosis for these life and sight threatening neuro-ophthalmological conditions that can often be missed.
