National training survey for doctors delivering postgraduate training
27 April 2016
This year the GMC is rolling out a new national survey of trainers alongside the annual survey of doctors in training. By running the two surveys at the same time every year, the GMC hopes to be able to provide a more comprehensive picture of training environments. It should also allow a better understanding of how trainers view their role and the extent to which they are supported and valued.
Trainers have a unique perspective on the quality and effectiveness of medical training in the UK. Responding to the survey provides an opportunity to improve support for doctors in training, to shape the future of medical training in the UK and, ultimately, trainers’ individual roles.
All trainers and supervisors are strongly encouraged to take part in the initiative – the 2016 survey is currently open and closes on 4 May at noon. For more information on how to complete the survey, please visit the GMC’s website.
