NICE Draft guideline on cataracts in adults: management
12 May 2017
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has opened a consultation on draft guidelines for cataracts in adults, closing 23 June 2017 at 5pm.
The guideline covers managing cataracts in adults aged 18 and over. It aims to improve care before, during and after cataract surgery by optimising service organisation, referral and surgical movement, and reducing complications. It further aims to improve the availability of information for people with cataracts before, during and after cataract surgery.
The Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ Scientific Committee will be co-ordinating a response to the consultation, and the full draft guidelines are available to view online via the NICE website.
You can view an archive of College responses to consultation documents on the College website.
