Become the College’s next CESR Faculty Lead

12 September 2018

The College is looking to recruit a CESR Faculty Lead to take forward work on behalf of the College from January 2019. This is also an opportunity to be involved with the Training Committee and to contribute to work streams on flexibility and transferability of skills and future changes to the CESR route developed by the GMC and Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.

The Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) is a route onto the Specialist Register for those doctors who have not followed an approved training programme.

The College’s role is to evaluate individual applications and send recommendations to the GMC. The College works closely with the GMC to ensure that a robust system of assessment is established. This involves reviewing applications from doctors both from the UK and abroad to determine whether their training and subsequent experience is equivalent to that of a recently successful CCT candidate.

This stimulating and rewarding work is open to substantive NHS Consultants in the UK of at least 3 years’ standing who have recently been involved in the training process. They must also be current members of the College, registered for CPD and the appointment will be for 3 years (renewable once).

The job description / person specification and guidance document is available.

Please send completed application form alongside an equal opportunities monitoring form and short CV to alex.tytko@rcophth.ac.ukby Monday 15 October 2018.  Interviews will be held on Wednesday 7 November 2018 in the morning.

If you wish to have further details of the post then please contact Alex Tytko on 0203 770 5338.
