Professor Sobha Sivaprasad has been appointed as the in-coming Editor in Chief of Eye, having contributed to the scientific journal of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists as a section editor and then an associate editor since 2008. NICE Draft guideline on cataracts in adults: management
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has opened a consultation on draft guidelines for cataracts in adults, closing 23 June 2017 at 5pm. The guideline covers managing cataracts in adults aged 18 and over. It aims to improve care before, during and after cataract surgery by optimising service organisation, referral and surgical movement, and reducing complications.

2017 Ophthalmology Honours open for entry
Bayer’s awards programme, Ophthalmology Honours, is open for entry for a third year running. The awards programme is designed to recognise and celebrate, on an annual basis, the outstanding work being carried out by multi-disciplinary teams in ophthalmology throughout the UK. Supported by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and Visionary, a membership
