National Opthalmology Database (NOD) Audit Update
The data contributed in the first year (01 September 2015 – 31 August 2016) of the prospective audit is currently being cleaned and analysed by the NOD statistician. The audit report, which is expected to be published in March 2017 will include case complexity adjusted outcomes for surgical complications and visual acuity loss from cataract

Fungal Endophthalmitis
Moorfields Eye Hospital is currently investigating an unusually high rate of fungal infections resulting from corneal graft surgery. Moorfields has identified that a number of patients have developed fungal endophthalmitis following corneal graft surgery since June 2016.
