Overview

  • Know the ocular anatomy and be aware of the instruments, their names and uses.
  • Practise and be assessed in a simulated environment and wet lab settings.
  • Learn and be assessed on additional surgical skills such as suturing techniques for different ocular and adnexal tissues to show understanding of different sutures and knots.
  • Perform steps in a longer procedure where you might be unlikely to perform the entire procedure.
  • Understand your limitations and reflect on how this can be improved.
  • Practise in a supervised simulated environment.
