Learning Outcome	Understand how dietary deficiencies and nutritional problems can lead to ophthalmic disease. Manage the patient appropriately, by prescription of supplements or referral for expert advice. Give patients general dietary advice including the role of nutritional supplements.

Overview	Know which systemic diseases that are linked to nutritional status have ophthalmic manifestations. Know which specific ophthalmic conditions are linked to nutritional status.
